Shampoo and Conditioner Bars
Solid Shampoo Bar
Solid shampoo bars are a great way to cut down on plastic waste and are super convenient for travel—no worries about leaky bottles in your bag. Unlike many others that sell soap as shampoo bars, our formula isn’t soap at all. Soap, made with lye, has a pH over 7, while our bars use gentle surfactants for a pH around 5, which is much safer for your hair. Plus, there’s no need for a vinegar rinse with our bars! We will be adding more varieties of shampoo, and will also be crafting conditioner bars in the next several months. Keep an eye on our website for new details, and look below for details on our current shampoo offerings. Check out the current offerings below.
Our shampoo bars are made with quality ingredients especially recommended for hair care. The bars are hard, lathering almost instantly on contact with wet hair, requiring just a few swipes on your head to create a large volume of scented, foamy bubbles. A single bar lasts 60-90 shampoos.
What ingredients are in the shampoo and what do they do?
Castor oil and rice are said to help strengthen the hair, boost growth, and improve hair health, Also included are surfactants Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI) and Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa) which create the gorgeous, dense, velvety lather. Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a mild third surfactant which boosts the bubbles and helps to make the shampoo bar milder. A bit of citric acid reduces the pH to a level good for hair. Panthenol’s role in the recipe is to increase shine, and the rice protein is for hair strength.
